BLAINE, Minn. — To say the Wisconsin Woodsmen’s offense was good, would be a bit of an
understatement.
Great would be closer.
Awesome would be spot on.
The Wisconsin Woodsmen erupted for 13 goals — one shy of the single-game franchise record
— and coasted to a 13-0 win over the Pelham Prowlers during the opening day of the NA3HL
Showcase Sunday afternoon at the National Hockey Center.
The Woodsmen got goals from 10 different players in enjoying their highest offensive effort
since a 14-0 routing over the Minnesota Loons on Jan. 26, 2024.
Tegan O’Brien kicked things off for the Woodsmen, scoring just six minutes into the opening
period, and by the time the first-period horn sounded, Maxim Lazo, Josh Kauppinen, and Parker
Holloway had also lit the lamp, giving Wisconsin a commanding 4-0 advantage.
And the first-period intermission did nothing to slow down the Woodsmen’s high-octane
offense.
Lazo scored his second of the day as part of Wisconsin’s five-goal second period, with Patrick
Bowser, Ty Paulios, Tyler Osborne, and Presten Flood also collecting second-period goals to
extend the Woodsmen lead to 9-0 with 20 minutes to play.
And in those final 20 minutes, O’Brien, Holloway, Alexander Elsner, and Brandon Slasor would
round out the Woodsmen’s offensive onslaught.
Along with his second-period goal, Bowser also assisted on three other Woodsmen tallies, while
Kauppinen, Micah Sieben, and Bryce Bechen all collected a pair of helpers. Alex Rivolta picked
up the win in goal for Wisconsin, stopping all six Prowler shots in earning the shutout.
The Woodsmen (9-15-2-1 overall) are right back in action at the National Sports Center in
Blaine, Minn., on Monday, squaring off against the Maine Nordiques. Puck drop is slated for 1
p.m.
