TOMAH, Wis. — The Wisconsin Woodsmen did something Friday night the team had not done
since early December of 2023 — extend their winning streak to five straight.
The Woodsmen, equaling the franchise record for consecutive wins — set from Dec. 1-15 of last
season — got goals from six different players en route to a 6-1 NA3HL victory over the St. Louis
Jr. Blues at the Tomah Ice Center.
Wisconsin, in the midst of a six-game homestand, got all the offense it would need in the first
period, jumping out to a 2-0 lead on goals by Tristen May-Robinson and Maxim Lazo.
The Woodsmen would extend that cushion to 5-0 with a three-goal second period, getting
tallies from Hugh Deinema, Viktor Budik, and Pierson Zittel, before netting their sixth
unanswered goal on a Vincent Greene tally with 1:59 remaining in the third.
St. Louis foiled Steven Kelley’s shutout bid just 21 seconds after Greene’s goal, as Brady
Anderson beat the Woodsmen netminder with the Jr. Blues’ lone goal of the game.
Kelley 15 saves between the pipes for the Woodsmen, who held a 34-16 advantage in shots on
goal.
The Woodsmen (9-4-1-1) and Jr. Blues (6-6-2-0) will return to the Tomah Ice Center on
Saturday, as the two teams square off in their NA3HL rematch. Puck drop is slated for 7:15 p.m.
