BLAINE, Minn. — The Wisconsin Woodsmen closed out its three-game stay at the NA3HL
Showcase in much the same way they began it — with a shutout victory.
The Woodsmen, who surrendered just one goal in their first two games — beating the Pelham
Prowlers 13-0 and Maine Nordiques 5-1 — once again dominated on both ends of the ice
against the Bozeman Icedogs, getting goals from seven different players and a 27-save effort
from Alex Rivolta en route to a 7-0 victory.
Jack Dahl got Wisconsin off and running with a goal just 27 seconds into the opening period.
That early tally, however, would be the Woodsmen’s only goal of the period, as they took a 1-0
advantage into the first intermission.
Josh Kauppinen and Maxim Lazo posted powerplay goals in the second period to extend the
Woodsmen lead to 3-0, and Nolan Mix, Tegan O’Brien, Anthony Moorehead, and Ozbej Muzan
all found the back of the net in the game’s final stanza to complete the rout.
Tyler Osborne was in a giving mood for the Woodsmen, picking up assists in four of the team’s
seven goals — falling one assist shy of the franchise’s single-game record. Rivolta, meanwhile,
picked up his second shutout of the Showcase, stopping all 27 shots he faced.
The Woodsmen (11-15-2-1 overall) return to Central Division play on Friday and Saturday,
playing host to the Wausau Cyclones for a pair of 7:15 p.m. matchups at the Tomah Ice Center.
