WEST BEND HANDS WOODSMEN 3-2 OVERTIME SETBACK

Nov 17, 2024

KETTLE MORAINE, Wis. — The Wisconsin Woodsmen headed into Saturday’s NA3HL showdown
with the West Bend Power hoping to end the November portion of their schedule the way the
month had started — with a victory.

The Power, however, had other ideas.

West Bend scored the game’s final two goals — including the game-winner 33 seconds into the
overtime period, as the Power dealt the Woodsmen a 3-2 setback at the Kettle Moraine Ice
Arena.

The two teams traded first period goals — West Bend scoring first on a tally by Danny Jurcich at
13:31, while the Woodsmen knotted things up on Vincent Greene’s fifth of the season with two
minutes to play in the opening 20 minutes.

Charles Murray gave Wisconsin a 2-1 lead, netting the lone goal of the second period — his
fourth of the season — only to have West Bend knot the game at 2-2 on a goal by William
McDonald with 45 seconds to play in regulation.

Jace Fitzgerald capped the Power comeback, scoring his fifth of the year just 33 seconds into
the extra session.

Andrew Peterson suffered the loss in goal for Wisconsin, despite kicking out 31 of West Bend’s
34 shots on goal, while Murray, Viktor Budik, Joshua Kauppinen, and Tyler Osborne all collected
assists for the Woodsmen.

Wisconsin is now off until Dec. 6-7, when they are back on the road, heading to Fogerty Ice
Arena in Blaine, Minn., for a pair of NA3HL games against the Minnesota Moose.
