SLASOR’S HAT TRICK FUELS WOODSMEN’S 6-3 WIN OVER CYCLONES

Dec 22, 2024

TOMAH, Wis. — Brandon Slasor had the Midas Touch for the Wisconsin Woodsmen Saturday
evening.

Slasor became the second player this season to score three or more goals in a game, collecting
his first hat trick as a Woodsmen in leading Wisconsin to a 6-3 NA3HL victory over the Wausau
Cyclones at the Tomah Ice Center.

After a scoreless first period — a frame in which the Woodsmen held a 10-5 edge in shots on
goal — Slasor went to work, scoring three of Wisconsin’s four second-period goals.

Slasor opened the scoring 44 seconds into the middle period, and four minutes later, Patrick
Bowser made it 2-0 with his third goal of the season. Slasor added his second of the evening at
9:35 to extend the Woodmen cushion to 3-0.

Wausau, however, answered with three straight goals in an eight minute span to knot the game
at 3-3 — and there was still 1:24 to play in the period. Which was more than enough time for
Slasor to complete his hat trick, and send the Woodsmen into the second intermission with a 4-
3 advantage.

Tristen May-Robinson and Johnny Thrasher each connected in the game’s final period to seal
the Woodsmen victory — their second over the Cyclones in four meetings this season.

Viktor Budik and Joshua Kauppinen had “hat tricks’ of a different variety for the Woodsmen, as
the duo each picked up three assists in the victory. Lleyton Jaschke, meanwhile, did his part
between the pipes for the Woodsmen, kicking out 24 of Wausau’s 27 shots on goal.

The Woodsmen are back in action next Friday and Saturday, playing host to the Peoria
Mustangs in a pair of NA3HL games at the Tomah Ice Center. Puck drop for both games is slated
for 7:15 p.m.
