TOMAH, WI. — The Wisconsin Woodsmen closed out the 2025 portion of its schedule in
impressive fashion Saturday evening.
The Woodsmen bounced back from a 4-1 loss to Wausau the previous evening with a dominant
performance in the rematch, scoring five unanswered goals — including two each from Nolan
Mix and Tyler Osborne — and drubbing the visiting Cyclones 6-1 at the Tomah Ice Center.
After a scoreless first period, the Woodsmen came out firing in the middle frame, peppering the
Wausau goal with 22 shots, including three — one by Mix, one by Anthony Moorehead, and
one by Osborne — that found the back of the net to give Wisconsin a 3-0 lead heading into the
second intermission.
Mix and Osborne each added their second of the evening in the first seven minutes of the third
period, and, after Joel Anderson foiled Woodsmen goalie Alex Rivolta’s bid for a third shutout
of the season, Micah Sieben iced the Wisconsin victory.
Mix and Osborne also collected assists to cap three-point nights, while Sieben, Jack Dahl, Brodie
Mich, Josh Kauppinen, Maxim Lazo, Ty Paulios, and Colton Holzer each chipped in helpers.
Rivolta finished with 20 saves between the pipes for the Woodsmen, while Wausau goalie
Brody Kunst kicked out 39 of Wisconsin’s 45 shots on goal.
The Woodsmen (12-16-2-1 overall) are now off until Jan. 9-10, when they take on the West
Bend Power and Rochester Grizzlies. Wisconsin will head to the Kettle Moraine Ice Arena on
Jan. 9 for a 7:30 p.m. matchup against the Power, before returning home to the Tomah Ice
Center for a 7:15 showdown with the Grizzlies..
