The Wisconsin Woodsmen step out of Central Division play, squaring off against the Pelham Prowlers, Maine Nordiques and Bozeman Icedogs as part of the NA3HL Showcase at the National Sports Complex in Blaine, Minn. The Woodsmen and Prowlers will square off at 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, before taking on the Nordiques at 1 p.m. on Monday afternoon, and concluding with an 11:45 a.m. matchup against the Icedogs.

  • FOR THE RECORD: The Woodsmen head into their NA3HL Showcase games sporting a 8-15-2-1 record, good for fifth in the NA3HL Central Division standings. … Wisconsin closed out the 2024-25 season with a 24-16-6-3 record, good for fifth place in the NA3HL Central Division standings.
  • LAST TIME OUT: The Woodsmen split its weekend series against the league-leading West Bend Power on Dec. 5-6. Wisconsin got a game-winning goal from Nolan Mix less than a minute into overtime to lift the Woodsmen to a 3-2 home victory, only to have the Power answer with 11 goals — including seven in the third period — in earning the split with an 11-1 victory in Kettle Moraine, Wis., the following evening.
  • ROAD WARRIORS: The Woodsmen are in the midst of playing seven of eight games on the road, the lone exception, a 3-2 overtime win over league-leading West Bend Power on Dec. 5. … Wisconsin has collected five of its eight wins this season on its home ice, going 5-8-0-1 at the Tomah Ice Center, while owning a 3-7-2-0 mark on the road this year. … The Woodsmen finished 11-8-3-3 at the Tomah Ice Center a year ago, while going 11-8-3-3 on the road.
  • STREAKING: Thanks to their 3-2 overtime win over the West Bend Power on Dec. 5, the Woodsmen have now won four of their last six games. … The Woodsmen’s OT victory over the West Bend Power extended their winning streak to three. It marked the second time this season Wisconsin has won three straight. … With their 3-2 win over the Peoria Mustangs on Nov. 7, the Woodsmen put an end to a franchise-high nine-game losing streak.
  • WHITE-KNUCKLE RIDE: The Woodsmen’s 3-2 overtime win over the West Bend Power on Dec. 5 was the ninth game this season decided by one goal. Wisconsin has now played 29 games over the last two seasons that have been decided by one goal — including 16 that went into overtime and four decided in a shootout. … Wisconsin’s 2-1 loss to the Minnesota Moose on Nov. 15 was their first game this season decided by a shootout.
  • TURNING UP THE HEAT: The Woodsmen erupted for a season-high nine goals in their 9-1 rout of the Peoria Mustangs on Nov. 8. It was the most goals the Woodsmen have put up since putting up nine goals against the Minnesota Loons on Jan. 27, 2024. The nine goals were also 
  • TURNING UP THE HEAT II: Wisconsin peppered the Peoria Mustangs’ net with 64 shots in its 9-1 win over the Mustangs on Nov. 8. The 64 shots on goal were a season-high, and the most since recording 67 shots against Peoria on Oct. 19, 2024.
  • TURNING UP THE HEAT III: The Woodsmen have scored six or more goals in a game five times this season, and have netted 6+ goals in a game 15 times over the last two seasons.
  • COMING UP EMPTY: The Woodsmen’s 4-0 loss to the Wausau Cyclones on Oct. 24 marked the first time this season they were held without a goal. The last time Wisconsin, which has scored 80 goals in 26 games, had been shut out came in a 3-0 loss to the Minnesota Moose on Dec. 6, 2025.
  • LIGHTING THE LAMP: Ty Paulios holds the top spot in goals with 13, one more than Maxim Lazo and three in front of Nolan Mix. Tyler Osborne and Josh Kauppinen are tied for fourth on the team with six goals each, followed by Brandon Slasor with five, and Brodie Mich and Ethan Foiles with four.
  • SPREADING THE WEALTH:The Woodsmen — whose seven combined goals in its season-opening split against the Rochester Grizzlies on Sept. 12-13 came from seven different players — have already had 19 players light the lamp this season.
  • FRANCHISE BEST: Lazo’s four goals in Wisconsin’s 6-4 win over the West Bend Power on Oct. 3 matched his single-game career high, and equaled the franchise single-game record. … Lazo has now scored four goals in a game twice, having also achieved the feat against the Mason City Toros last season. … Nolan Mix originally had set the program record, scoring four goals against the Minnesota Loons on Jan. 26, 2024.
  • TOSSING THE HAT: Paulios’s hat trick against the Rochester Grizzlies on Nov. 22 was his second of the season, having also netted three goals against the Peoria Mustangs on Nov. 7. … Wisconsin has now had a player record three or more goals in a game eight times over the last two seasons. 
  • LENDING A HELPING HAND: Lazo leads the team in assists with 16, one more than Mix and two in front of Paulios. The trio are three of five Woodsmen who have racked up at lead 10 helpers this season, being joined by Mich with 12 and Slasor with 10. … Mix picked up four assists in Wisconsin’s 8-2 win over St. Louis on Nov. 2, 2024, one shy of the single-game franchise record of five, set by Hunter Nelson against the Minnesota Loons on Jan. 26, 2024.
  • POINT PRODUCERS: Wisconsin boasts seven players who have already reached double figures in points, led by Lazo (12 G, 16 A) with 28. Paulios (13 G, 14 A, 27 Pts) and Mix (10 G, 15 A, 25 Pts) join Lazo as players who have eclipsed the 20-point mark. Mich (4 G, 12 A, 16 Pts), Slasor (5 G, 10 A, 15 Pts), Osborne (6 G, 8 A, 14 Pts), and Kauppinen (6 G, 7 A, 13 Pts) have also recorded 10+ points this season, while Parker Holloway (2 G, 7 A) and Cole Schreiber (3 G, 6 A) are just one point shy of reaching double figures. … Hugh Deinema closed out the 2024-25 season as the team-leader with a franchise record 62 points (27 G, 35 A).
  • BETWEEN THE PIPES: Lleyton Jaschke has appeared in 19 of the Woodsmen’s 26 games in goal (1035:00), compiling a 4.46 goals-against-average and an .884 save percentage. … Jaschke has stopped 665 of the 742 shots he’s faced. … Logan Blahnik has played in five games (217:00), boating a 5.25 GAA and .850 save %. … Aidan Vanderweele made his first career start as a Woodsmen against the Wausau Cyclones on Sept. 20, stopping 46 of the Cyclones’ 53 shots and owns an 8.18 GAA and .818 save % in two appearances (88:00), while Alex Rivolta boasts a 3.27 GAA and .908 save percentage in five appearances (220:00). … Jaschke closed out the 2024-25 season recording 511 saves in 21 appearances, second to Steven Kelley’s team-leading 738 saves in 25 appearances.

PROWLERS SCOUTING REPORT:

  • FOR THE RECORD: The Prowlers head into the NA3HL Showcase sporting an 8-13-2-0 record, good for fourth place in the NA3HL Southeast Division standings.
  • LAST TIME OUT: Pelham went 2-1 in its three-game weekend series against the Atlanta Capitals last weekend, winning the first two games — 6-4 and 4-0, before dropping a 9-5 decision in Game 3 last Sunday.
  • ROAD WARRIORS: With their three games in the NA3HL Showcase, the Prowlers are in the midst of playing 13 straight road games. … The Prowlers have picked up five of their eight wins this season on the road. Pelham is just 3-7-0-0 at home, while going 5-7-2-0 on the road.
  • STREAKING: With their 6-4 win over the Atlanta Capitals on Dec. 5, the Prowlers snapped an eight-game losing streak — including an 0-for-November, dropping all six games during they played last month.
  • FAMILIAR FOE: When the Prowlers finally return home on Jan. 2, they will kick off a stretch of six consecutive home games against the Atlanta Capitals.
  • LIGHTING THE LAMP: Marlon Derksen has been a goal-scoring machine for the Prowlers, heading into the weekend having netted 27 goals in 24 games. Matthew Hunter is second to Derksen with 18 goals, followed by Lorenzo Pekarek with eight, Jacob Harrison and Parker McCown with six, and Bryce Croyle with five. … Pelham has gotten goals from 14 different players this season.
  • LENDING A HELPING HAND: Derksen also leads the team in assists, amassing 23 helpers to put him five up on Pekarek. Hunter has also reached double figures in assists, sitting third with 13, while Harrison and McCown are tied for fourth with seven helpers each.
  • POINT PRODUCERS: With 27 goals and 23 assists, Derksen sits head-and-shoulders above the rest of the Prowlers’ players in the points race with 50. Derksen’s 50 points have him sitting 11th among all NA3HL scorers. … Hunter (18 G, 13 A) has also eclipsed the 30-point mark with 31, while Pekarek (6 G, 18 A, 24 Pts), Harrison (6 G, 7 A, 13 Pts), and McCown (6 G, 7 A, 13 Pts) have also recorded 10+ points through the season’s first 24 games.
  • BETWEEN THE PIPES: Pelham has used four different goalies through 24 games, led by Garrett Ambrose, who has appeared in 11 games (657:00), compiling a 6.21 goals-against-average and .880 save percentage. Collin Jeffries has played in seven games (380:00), boasting an 8.68 GAA and .804 save %, while Oscar Gribauval (189:00, 2.85 GAA, .949 save %) and Alexander Stafford (222:00, 7.02 GAA, .778 save %) have each played four games. … Ambrose has made a team-high 567 saves, followed by Jeffries with 280, Gribauval with 176, and Stafford with 117.

NORDIQUES SCOUTING REPORT:

  • FOR THE RECORD: The Nordiques kicked off Showcase play owning an 8-13-0-0 record, good for sixth place in the NA3HL East Division standings. 
  • LAST TIME OUT: New Hampshire scored five unanswered goals — including outscoring Maine 4-0 in the second period — as the Jr. Mountain Kings dealt the Nordiques an 8-3 setback on Dec. 3.
  • LIMPING IN: Maine heads into its three-game Showcase schedule having won just once in its last six contests — a 3-2 win over Buzz on Nov. 20. … The Jr. Mountain Kings have been outscored 33-11 during its current 1-5-0-0 run.
  • HOME SWEET HOME: The Jr. Mountain Kings have picked up five of their eight wins this season on their home ice. Maine is 5-6-0-0 at home, while going 3-7-0-0 on the road.
  • LIGHTING THE LAMP: Brodey Emond heads into Showcase play leading the Jr. Mountain Kings in goals with 13. He is the only Maine player to reach double figures in goals through 21 games. Peyton Dyer is second on the team with eight goals, one more than both Hayden Brown and Ayzik Lauberte, while Carter Walls has scored six times and Jaxson Sardinha owns four goals.
  • LENDING A HELPING HAND: Sardinha has amassed a team-best 25 assists, followed by Emond with 17 and Griffin Hardwick with 11. Dyer, Walls and Gavin Gleghorn are all tied for fourth on the team with six helpers each.
  • POINT PRODUCERS: Maine boasts six players who have accumulated 10+ points this season, led by Emond with 30 (13 G, 17 A). Gardinha is one point back with 29 (4 G, 25 A), while Dyer (8 G, 6 A, 14 Pts), Hardwick (2 G, 11 A, 13 Pts), Brown (7 G, 5 A, 12 Pts) and Walls (6 G, 6 A, 12 Pts) are also members of the 10+ point club.
  • BETWEEN THE PIPES: Maine has had four goalies see time between the pipes this season. Tyler Miller and Josef Simon have led the quartet, each appearing in nine games. Miller owns a 4.37 goals-against-average and .919 save percentage in 453 minutes, while Simon boasts a 4.87 GAA and .880 save % in 406 minutes. Ayden Linville (5 GP, 221:00, 3.80 GAA, .924 save %) and Riley Burnett (4 GP, 176:00, 6.81 GAA, .833 save %) have also seen extended time in goal for the Jr. Mountain Kings.

ICEDOGS SCOUTING REPORT:

  • FOR THE RECORD: Bozeman heads into its three NA3HL Showcase games boasting a 13-11-1-1 record, good for fourth place in the NA3HL Frontier Division. 
  • LAST TIME OUT: The Icedogs picked up their third straight win on Dec. 6, holding off the Great Falls Americans 2-1 — despite being outshot 48-27 — including 16-3 in the third period. Bozeman had opened the weekend with a 5-2 victory over the Butte Irish the previous evening.
  • HOME SWEET HOME: Bozeman has collected seven of its 13 wins on its home ice. The Icedogs own a 7-6-0-0 record on their home sheet, while going 6-5-1-1 on the road.
  • LIGHTING THE LAMP: Lex Steckelberg heads into Bozeman’s Showcase games leading the team with 20 goals. He is one of three Icedogs who have reached double figures in goals, being joined by Andrew Kaunas with 13 and Sam Trufant with 10. Devin Bruns is one goal shy of going the club, sitting at nine goals, while Jace Griffin is fifth on the squad with seven goals, two more than Matthew Stamp. 
  • LENDING A HELPING HAND: Bruns sits atop the heap in assists with 17. Steckelberg and Kaunas are five helpers back of Bruns with 12 assists each, while Griffins and Brad Wilkinson have dished out 11 assists and Alex Brello has added 10. Avery Martin, meanwhile, needs just one assist to hit double figures.
  • POINT PRODUCERS: With his 20 goals and 12 assists, Steckelberg has accumulated a team-high 32 points. Bruns (9 G, 17 A) and Kaunas (13 G, 12 A) have also surpassed the 20-point mark, sitting with 26 and 25 points, respectively, while Griffins (7 G, 11 A, 18 Pts), Trufant (10 G, 5 A, 15 Pts), Brello (3 G, 10 A, 13 Pts), and Martin (4 G, 9 A, 13 Pts) are also members of the 10+ point club.
  • BETWEEN THE PIPES: Jack Ryan and Russell Newman have shared the goaltending duties for the Icedogs, with Ryan compiling a 2.18 goals-against-average and .936 save percentage in 18 appearances (991:00), while Newman boasts a 3.57 GAA and .901 save % in 11 games played (570:00). … Ryan leads the team with 565 saves, followed by Newman with 344. … Ryan has been in goal for both of the Icedogs’ shutouts.
