The Wisconsin Woodsmen are back in action this weekend with a pair of home games against the Peoria Mustangs. The Woodsmen and Mustangs will square off at the Tomah Ice Center at 7:15 p.m. on Friday, with the two teams completing their weekend series with another 7:15 p.m. matchup the following evening.

  • FOR THE RECORD: The Woodsmen head into their NA3HL weekend series against the Peoria Mustangs sporting a 2-13-1-0 record. … Wisconsin closed out the 2024-25 season with a 24-16-6-3 record, good for fourth place in the NA3HL Central Division standings.
  • LAST TIME OUT: Wisconsin’s offense struggled in its NA3HL games against the Rochester Grizzlies and West Bend Power last weekend. The Woodsmen came up on the short end of an 8-1 decision to the Grizzlies last Friday, before dropping a 6-1 outcome the following evening.
  • HOME COOKING: This weekend’s games against the Peoria Mustangs are the fourth and fifth of seven straight home games for the Woodsmen. Wisconsin does not hit the road again until a Nov. 21 matchup at the Rochester Grizzlies. … Wisconsin has collected both of its wins this season on its home ice, going 2-7-0-0 in seven home contests, while dropping all seven of its road contests this year. … The Woodsmen finished 11-8-3-3 at the Tomah Ice Center a year ago, while going 11-8-3-3 on the road.
  • WHITE-KNUCKLE RIDE: With their 5-4 loss to the St. Louis Jr. Blues on Oct. 18, the Woodsmen have now played three games this season decided by one goal (all losses) and have now played 23 games over the last two seasons decided by one goal — including 12 that went into overtime and three decided in a shootout.
  • COMING UP EMPTY: The Woodsmen’s 4-0 loss to the Wausau Cyclones on Oct. 24 marked the first time this season they were held without a goal. The last time Wisconsin, which has scored 44 goals in 16 games, had been shut out came in a 3-0 loss to the Minnesota Moose on Dec. 6, 2025.
  • LIGHTING THE LAMP: Maxim Lazo heads into the weekend boasting a team-leading nine goals. Nolan Mix is sitting second with seven goals, three more than Ty Paulios and Ethan Foiles, while Brodie Mich and Tyler Osborne have each lit the lamp three times. 
  • SPREADING THE WEALTH:The Woodsmen — whose seven combined goals in its season-opening split against the Rochester Grizzlies on Sept. 12-13 came from seven different players — have already had 16 players light the lamp this season.
  • FRANCHISE BEST: Lazo’s four goals in Wisconsin’s 6-4 win over the West Bend Power on Oct. 3 matched his single-game career high, and equaled the franchise single-game record. … Lazo has now scored four goals in a game twice, having also achieved the feat against the Mason City Toros last season. … Nolan Mix originally had set the program record, scoring four goals against the Minnesota Loons on Jan. 26, 2024.
  • TOSSING THE HAT: The Woodsmen have now had a player record three or more goals in a game six times over the last two seasons. Lazo owned three- and four-goal games last season, while Deinema, Bowser, and Brandon Laso had Wisconsin’s other three-goal games.
  • TURNING UP THE HEAT: The Woodsmen have scored a season-high six goals in three times this season, and have netted six or more goals in a game 13 times over the last two seasons. … Wisconsin erupted for 18 goals in their two-game sweep of the Peoria Mustangs on Oct. 18-19, 2024. The eight goals scored in their 8-1 win on Oct. 18 were the most Wisconsin had scored all season a year ago, only to be two-upped with the Woodsmen’s 10-goal eruption in their 10-7 win the following evening. … The Woodsmen’s 10 goals against Peoria on Oct. 19, 2024 were the most since netting a franchise-record 14 against the Minnesota Loons on Jan. 26, 2024..
  • LENDING A HELPING HAND: Lazo picked up his team-leading ninth and 10th assists against the Rochester Grizzlies on Oct. 25. His 10 helpers are two more than Paulios. Mix and Mich are tied for third with six helpers each, with Cole Schrieber and Brandon Slasor sitting with five assists apiece. Osborne, Josh Kauppinen, Easton Armstrong, Patrick Bowser, and Alexander Elsner have all contributed three assists. …  Mix picked up four assists in Wisconsin’s 8-2 win over St. Louis on Nov. 2, 2024, one shy of the single-game franchise record of five, set by Hunter Nelson against the Minnesota Loons on Jan. 26, 2024.
  • POINT PRODUCERS: Wisconsin boasts three players who have already reached double figures in points, led by Lazo (9 G, 10 A) with 19. Mix (7 G, 6 A, 13 Pts) and Paulios (4 G, 8 A, 12 Pts) have also eclipsed the 10-point mark. Mich (3 G, 6 A, 9 Pts) is one point shy of joining the 10-point club, followed by Schreiber (2 G, 5 A, 7 Pts), Osborne (3 G, 3 A, 6 Pts) and Slasor (1 G, 5 A, 6 Pts). … Hugh Deinema closed out the 2024-25 season as the team-leader with a franchise record 62 points (27 G, 35 A).
  • BETWEEN THE PIPES: Lleyton Jaschke has appeared in 12 of the Woodsmen’s 16 games in goal (645 minutes), compiling a 4.55 goals-against-average and an .885 save percentage. … Jaschke has stopped 425 of the 474 shots he’s faced. … Logan Blahnik has played in five games (217 minutes), boating a 5.25 GAA and .850 save %. … Aidan Vanderweele made his first career start as a Woodsmen against the Wausau Cyclones on Sept. 20, stopping 46 of the Cyclones’ 53 shots and owns a 8.18 GAA and .818 save % in 2 appearances (88 minutes). … Jaschke closed out the 2024-25 season recording 511 saves in 21 appearances, second to Steven Kelley’s team-leading 738 saves in 25 appearances.
  • STREAK-SNAPPER: With their 5-2 loss to the Rochester Grizzlies on Nov. 8, 2024, the Woodsmen had their franchise-record six-game winning streak snapped.
  • FRANCHISE FIRST: After going 0-9-0-1 in its 10 meetings against the Wausau Cyclones during the 2023-2024 season, the Woodsmen picked up their first-ever win against the Cyclones with a 3-2 victory on Sept. 20, 2024, and added win No. 2 with a 6-3 victory on Dec. 21, 2024.

  • FOR THE RECORD: The Mustangs head into their weekend series against the Wisconsin Woodsmen sitting at 1-13-2-0, good for four points in the Central Division standings.
  • LAST TIME OUT: Peoria has been off since Oct. 24-25, when they split a pair of games against the Minnesota Wilderness. The Mustangs opened with an 8-4 victory, before dropping the second game of the weekend series 6-5 the following evening.
  • ROAD WARRIORS: The Mustangs opened the season with six consecutive road games and have played 12 of its first 14 games on the road.
  • STREAKING: Peoria’s 8-4 win over the Minnesota Wilderness on Oct. 24 snapped the Mustangs’ season-opening 14-game losing streak. 
  • LIGHTING THE LAMP: Brendon Miller enters the weekend leading the Mustangs with nine goals, two in front of Wyat Duke. Owen Gruden and Skyler Tompkins are tied for third with six goals each, with Nathan Pleva, Breyon Maroney, Jordan Mini, and Nick Martin all owning two goals.
  • LENDING A HELPING HAND: Duke has amassed 10 assists through 16 games. He is the lone Mustang with 10 or more helpers this season. Pleva is one helper shy of joining Duke in the 10+ assist club, while Miller is third with eight. Gruden, Tompkins, and Maroney have all chipped in seven assists.
  • POINT PRODUCERS: Duke and Miller share the team lead in points with 17 each — Duke tallying seven goals and 10 assists, while Miller boasts nine goals and eight assists. Gruden (6 G, 7 A, 13 Pts), Tompkins (6 G, 7 A, 13 Pts.), and Pleva (2 G, 9 A, 11 Pts) have also reached double figures in points, with Maroney (2 G, 7 A, 9 Pts) one point short of joining the group.
  • BETWEEN THE PIPES: Peoria has used three different goalies between the pipes this season. Jakub Stary has appeared in a team-high nine games (482 minutes), compiling a 5.72 goals-against-average and an .879 save percentage. Charlie Maquet has made eight appearances (422 minutes) and boasts a 6.11 GAA and .834 save %, while Sam Burcal has played one game (60 minutes) and owns a 6.00 GAA and .864 save percentage. … Stary leads the team with 379 saves, followed closely by Maquet with 259 saves.
