WOODSMEN SCOUTING REPORT:
- FOR THE RECORD: The Woodsmen head into their Friday matchup against the Rochester Grizzlies sporting a 6-3-1-0 record, leaving them sitting tied for second in the NA3HL Central Division standings with 13 points, one point back of the league-leading Rochester Grizzles. … Wisconsin finished with 19-24-2-2 record in 2025-26, good for 42 points and a fifth-place showing in the NA3HL Central Division standings.
- LAST TIME OUT: Wisconsin was perfect on the defensive end in its two-game NA3HL series against the Fox Cities Forge last weekend, posting back-to-back shutouts in 5-0 and 4-0 victories.
- HOME SWEET HOME: The Woodsmen played four of their six games in September on the road, but are in the midst of playing five of their eight October games on their home sheet, where they are 3-2-0-0 — with two victories coming on back-to-back wins over the St. Louis Jr. Blues on Sept. 18-19, and the other a 5-0 win over the Fox Cities Forge on Oct. 9. … Wisconsin collected 10 of its 19 wins last season on its home ice, going 10-11-0-2 at the Tomah Ice Center, while owning a 9-13-2-0 mark on the road.
- RIDING THE ROLLERCOASTER: Wisconsin scored the game’s first five goals in its season-opener against the Peoria Mustangs on Sept. 11, only to give up six unanswered tallies — including the game-winner with 1:11 remaining in overtime — in falling 6-5. … Wisconsin surrendered six unanswered goals to start the game in last Saturday’s 8-2 loss to the Wausau Cyclones.
- WHITE-KNUCKLE RIDE: The Woodsmen’s 3-2 loss to the Rochester Grizzlies on Oct. 2 marked the 18th time since the start of the 2025-26 season that Wisconsin has been involved in a game decided by one goal. … Wisconsin has now played 37 games over the last three seasons that have been decided by one goal — including 22 that have gone into overtime and six decided in a shootout. … Wisconsin lost both of its shootouts last season, falling to the Minnesota Moose on Nov. 15 and to the St. Louis Jr. Blues on Feb. 7.
- PUTTING UP GOOSE EGGS: Four of the Woodsmen’s first six wins this season have come via shutout. Wisconsin has blanked The St. Louis Jr. Blues twice — winning 2-0 and 1-0 — and posting back-to-back shutouts in 5-0 and 4-0 wins over the Fox Cities Forge last weekend.
- TURNING UP THE HEAT: With their 7-3 win over the Peoria Mustangs on Sept. 12, the Woodsmen have now scored six or more goals in a game 12 times since the start of last season, and have netted 6+ goals in a game 22 times over the last three seasons.
- SPREADING THE WEALTH: Wisconsin’s combined 12 goals against the Peoria Mustangs on Sept. 11-12 came from nine different players — including all five goals in the Woodsmen’s 6-5 OT loss last Friday.
- LIGHTING THE LAMP: Parker Holloway scored his team-leading seventh goal of the season in last weekend’s sweep of the Fox Cities Forge last weekend. Holloway’s seven goals are one in front of Jackson Haupt, while Ty Paulios is sitting third on the team with four goals. Andrei Khodmenko, Cameron Hovden, and Ozbej Muzan heave all netted three goals, while Myles Bible has two. … Paulios led the team with 21 goals last season, five more than Holloway.
- LENDING A HELPING HAND: Bryce Bechen – who had assists on three of Wisconsin’s four goals in last Saturday’s 4-0 win over the Fox Cities Forge — moved into a tie for the team lead in assists with Khomenko. Both have collected nine assists through 10 games. Holloway and Hovden are tied for third with seven helpers apiece, with Paulios adding six helpers, and Paxton Ramond four.
- POINT PRODUCERS: With his seven goals and seven assists, Holloway owns the team lead in points with 14, two up on Khomenko (3 G, 9 A). Bechen (1 G, 9 A), Hovden (3 G, 7 A), and Paulios (4 G, 6 A) have also reached double figures in points with 10 each, while Haupt (6 G, 3 A) is one point shy of joining the double-digit club. … Wisconsin boasted four players who accumulated 30 or more points last season, led by Paulios with 46 (21 G, 25 A).
- BETWEEN THE PIPES: The Woodsmen have used three different goalies through their first 10 games, with Dominic Seligman, Nicholas Roy, and Nicklas Timm all seeing time between the pipes. … Timm — who posted shutouts in each of his first two starts as a Woodsmen — leads the trio with a 0.97 goals-against-average and .957 save percentage in three appearances (184:00). Seligman has appeared in four games (201:00), compiling a 2.09 GAA and .892 save %, while Foy (4 GP, 221:00, 4.34 GAA, .876 save %) has also appeared in four games. … Foy leads the team with 113 saves, followed by Timm with 66 and Seligman with 58.
- RECORD-SETTER: Foy was a part of a pair of franchise records in his first start as a Woodsmen on Sept. 11 against the Peoria Mustangs. The 68 shots he faced were the most in franchise history, while his 62 saves were also the most in Woodsmen history.
- DEBUT TO REMEMBER: Timm made the most of his first start between the pipes for the Woodsmen, stopping all 11 shots he faced in recording the shutout in Wisconsin’s 2-0 win over the St. Louis Jr. Blues on Sept. 18. And then followed that up with shutout No. 2 against the Jr. Blues with a 28-save shutout effort eight days later.
- THROWING UP ZEROS: All three Woodsmen goalies have recorded at least one shutout this season. Timm owns a pair of shutouts, while Seligman and Foy each have one.
GRIZZLIES SCOUTING REPORT
- FOR THE RECORD: The Grizzlies head into their weekend games sporting a league-leading 6-0-1-1 overall record, good for 14 points and a one point lead over the West Bend Power and Wisconsin Woodsmen for the top spot in the Eastern Division standings.
- LAST TIME OUT: Rochester took to the road and picked up a pair of convincing wins in Affton, Mo., beating the St. Louis Jr. Blues 5-2 last Friday, before completing the sweep with a 4-1 win in the rematch the following day.
- ROAD TRIPPIN’: Friday’s game against the Wisconsin Woodsmen is the third of five straight road games for the Grizzlies, who do not return home to the Rochester Rec Center until Oct. 24, when they kick off a two-game homestand against the Woodsmen.
- LIGHTING THE LAMP: Jace Jordan and Konnor Goclan share the team lead with six goals apiece. They are the only two Grizzlies with more than three goals this season. Sawyer Zaruba and Liam Doyle have each lit the lamp three times, while Dominic Arndt, James Korpi, and Alexander Wainio have netted two goals apiece.
- LENDING A HELPING HAND: Jordan has dished out a team-best seven assists through eight games, two more than Goclan, Zaruba, and Arndt, while Camryn Koch and Gianni Brisson each have four helpers, and Doyle, Conrad Edlund, and Zaden Brua all have three.
- POINT PRODUCERS: With his six goals and seven assists, Jordan is the leader in points with 13. Goclan (6 G, 5 A) is the only other player to have reached double figures, coming in with 11. Zaruba (3 G, 5 A) is third on the team with eight points, followed by Arndt (2 G, 5 A) with seven and Doyle (3 G, 3 A) with six.
- BETWEEN THE PIPES: Rochester has had three goalies see playing time this season, with Jared Lang, Christian Hill, and Cameron Patrick all getting time between the pipes. Patrick has made a team-leading four appearances (236:00), compiling a 2.28 goals-against-average and a .917 save percentage. Hill has played in three games (184:00) and owns a 2.28 GAA and .926 save %, with Lang adding a 1.00 GAA and .974 save percentage in his one start (60:00). … Patrick owns a team-high 99 saves, followed by Hill with 87 and Lang with 38.
