AFFTON, Mo. — After three straight overtime games between the Wisconsin Woodsmen and
the St. Louis Junior Blues, there would be no need for an extra session Saturday evening.
That, however, was not good news for the Woodsmen.
The Junior Blues, who dropped a 3-2 decision to the visiting Woodsmen in Friday’s first game of
their two-game NA3HL series, erupted for three goals in the game’s opening 20 minutes and
never looked back in dealing Wisconsin a 6-2 setback at the Affton Ice Center.
The two teams traded goals early in the opening frame, with St. Louis’ Chase Kozma scoring less
than five minutes after the opening period, while the Woodsmen’s Ozbej Muzan — the hero of
Friday’s shootout win — answered just two minutes later ot knot the game at 1-1.
Stephen Craig and Kyle Settles would find the back of the net in a span of 1:44 less than a
minute after Muzan’s tally to give the Junior Blues a commanding 3-1 advantage.
Brodie Mich pulled Wisconsin within one, 3-2 with his fifth of the season at 3:33 of the second
period, but that would be the extent of the Woodsmen’s offense. St. Louis, meanwhile, got
back-to-back second-period tallies from Eric Denny and an empty net goal from Nicholas
Morgan late in the third period to seal the victory.
Myles Bible and Ethan Foiles picked up assists for Wisconsin, while Alex Rivolta finished with 38
saves between the pipes for the Woodsmen.
The Woodsmen (18-23-2-2) close out their regular-season schedule with a home-and-home
series against the league-leading West Bend Power. The two teams will square off at 7:30 p.m. at the Kettle Moraine Ice Center in Kettle Moraine, Wis., on Friday, before heading to the
Tomah Ice Center in Tomah, Wis., for Saturday’s 7:15 p.m. rematch.
