FAST START NOT ENOUGH AS WOODSMEN FALL TO GRIZZLIES ON THE ROAD

Jan 17, 2026

ROCHESTER, Minn. — The first period was very good to the Wisconsin Woodsmen Friday
evening. The second and third periods, however, were not.

Wisconsin scored two of the game’s first three goals against the Rochester Grizzlies, only to
have the Grizzlies erupt for five unanswered goals in the second period and four unanswered
goals in the third in rolling past the Woodsmen 10-4 at the Rochester Rec Center.

Mason Decker opened the scoring for the Grizzlies with his 27 th of the season just two minutes
into the first period. Parker Holloway pulled Wisconsin even with a power-play goal less than a
minute later, and Jack Dahl added his third of the year at the five-minute mark to put the
Woodsmen in front 2-1 heading into the first intermission.

That would be the only time the Woodsmen would play with the lead, however, as Rochester
opened the second period with goals by five different players — including Decker’s second of
the night — to put Rochester in front 6-2.

Ty Paulios found the back of the net with the Woodsmen’s second power-play goal before the
second period ended, but by the time Paulios tallied his second goal of the game with 2:12 to
play in the third, Rochester had already tacked on four more goals.

The Woodsmen (12-19-2-1) are back on the road on Saturday night, heading to Wausau, Wis.,
for a 7:10 p.m. matchup against the Wausau Cyclones.
