The Wisconsin Woodsmen close out their regular-season schedule with a home-and-home series against the league-leading West Bend Power this weekend. The two teams will square off at 7:30 p.m. at the Kettle Moraine (Wis.) Ice Center on Friday, before heading to the Tomah (Wis.) Ice Center for the 7:15 p.m. rematch the following evening.

  • FOR THE RECORD: The Woodsmen head into their weekend games against the league-leading West Bend Power sporting an 18-22-2-2 record, good for 40 points and a fifth-place showing in the NA3HL Central Division standings. … Wisconsin closed out the 2024-25 season with a 24-16-6-3 record, good for fifth place in the NA3HL Central Division standings.
  • LAST TIME OUT: the Woodsmen split their NA3HL road series against the St. Louis Junior Blues last weekend, winning 3-2 in a shootout last Friday, before dropping a 6-2 decision in Saturday’s rematch.
  • ROAD WARRIORS: The Woodsmen are in the midst of playing five of their final six regular-season games on the road, the lone home game in that stretch Saturday’s season finale against league-leading West Bend Power. … Wisconsin has collected 10 of its 18 wins this season on its home ice, going 10-10-0-2 at the Tomah Ice Center, while owning an 8-13-2-0 mark on the road this year. … The Woodsmen finished 11-8-3-3 at the Tomah Ice Center a year ago, while going 11-8-3-3 on the road.
  • STREAKING: The Woodsmen’s 6-0 win over the Peoria Mustangs on Jan. 30 snapped their six-game losing streak, while their 7-0 victory the following evening and their 2-1 OT victory over the St. Louis Junior Blues on Feb. 6 had them riding a season-high three-game winning streak for the fourth time this season. The Junior. Blues foiled Wisconsin’s bid for a fourth straight win with a 5-4 shootout victory on Feb. 7. … With their 3-2 win over the Peoria Mustangs on Nov. 7, the Woodsmen put an end to a franchise-high nine-game losing streak.
  • WHITE-KNUCKLE RIDE: The Woodsmen’s 3-2 shootout win over the St. Louis Junior Blues last Friday marked the 12th and 12th times this season the game was decided by one goal. Wisconsin has now played 33 games over the last two seasons that have been decided by one goal — including 19 that have gone into overtime and six decided in a shootout. … Wisconsin has lost both of its shootouts this season, falling to the Minnesota Moose on Nov. 15 and to the St. Louis Jr. Blues on Feb. 7.
  • TURNING UP THE HEAT: The Woodsmen erupted for a season-high 13 goals in routing the Pelham Power on Dec. 14. The 13 goals were one shy of the single-game franchise record of 14, set in a 14-0 whitewashing of the Minnesota Loons on Jan. 26, 2024. 
  • TURNING UP THE HEAT II: Wisconsin peppered the Peoria Mustangs’ net with 64 shots in its 9-1 win over the Mustangs on Nov. 8. The 64 shots on goal were a season-high, and the most since recording 67 shots against Peoria on Oct. 19, 2024.
  • TURNING UP THE HEAT III: The Woodsmen have scored six or more goals in a game 11 times this season, and have netted 6+ goals in a game 21 times over the last two seasons.
  • PUTTING UP ZEOES: The Woodsmen posted back-to-back shutouts against the Peoria Mustangs on Jan. 30-31, marking the first time in program history Wisconsin has not allowed a goal in back-to-back games. … Wisconsin has posted four shutouts this season.
  • COMING UP EMPTY: The Woodsmen’s 4-0 loss to the Wausau Cyclones on Oct. 24 marked the first time this season they were held without a goal. The last time Wisconsin had been shut out came in a 3-0 loss to the Minnesota Moose on Dec. 6, 2024.
  • LIGHTING THE LAMP: Ty Paulios leads the team with 20 goals, four more than Parker Holloway, who is second on the squad with 16 goals. Tyler Osborne is the only other Woodsmen to reach double figures in goals, sitting with 13, while Brandon Slasor is one goal shy of joining the 10+ goal club and Josh Kauppinen and Jack Dahl are just two away.
  • FRANCHISE BEST: Maxim Lazo’s four goals in Wisconsin’s 6-4 win over the West Bend Power on Oct. 3 matched his single-game career high, and equaled the franchise single-game record. … Lazo has now scored four goals in a game twice, having also achieved the feat against the Mason City Toros last season. … Nolan Mix originally had set the program record, scoring four goals against the Minnesota Loons on Jan. 26, 2024.
  • TOSSING THE HAT: Paulios’s hat trick against the Rochester Grizzlies on Nov. 22 was his second of the season, having also netted three goals against the Peoria Mustangs on Nov. 7. … Wisconsin has now had a player record three or more goals in a game eight times over the last two seasons. 
  • LENDING A HELPING HAND: Paulios and Kauppinen share the team lead in assists with 24. He is one of 10 Woodsmen who have eclipsed the 10-assist mark. Brodie Mich is third on the team with 23 assists, followed closely by Slasor, who is fourth with 20. Osborne (18), Bryce Bechen (18), Holloway (15), Patrick Bowser (14), Alec Dahlvang (11), and Ethan Foiles (10) have also reached double figures in assists.. … Osborne picked up four assists in the Woodsmen’s 7-0 win over the Bozeman Icedogs on Dec. 16, one shy of the single-game franchise record of five, set by Hunter Nelson against the Minnesota Loons on Jan. 26, 2024.
  • POINT PRODUCERS: Wisconsin boasts four players who have accumulated 30 or more points this season, led by Paulios with 44 (20 G, 24 A). Kauppinen is second on the team with 32 points (8 G, 24 A), while Holloway (16 G, 15 A) and Osborne (13 G, 18 A) are both sitting with 31 points. Slasor (9 G, 20 A, 29 Pts) and Mich (5 G, 23 A, 28 Pts) have both eclipsed the 20-point mark.
  • BETWEEN THE PIPES: Lleyton Jaschke has appeared in 29 of the Woodsmen’s 45 games in goal (1551:00), compiling a 4.13 goals-against-average and an .883 save percentage. … Jaschke has stopped a team-leading 916 shots. … Jaschke recorded the first two shutouts of the season against the Peoria Mustangs on Jan. 30-31. He stopped 14 shots in a 6-0 win on Jan. 30, and added a 23-save performance in a 7-0 victory the following evening. … Alex Rivolta — who picked up his first and second shutouts as a Woodsmen with a six-save effort against the Pelham Prowlers on Dec. 14 and a 27-save showing against the Bozeman Icedogs two days later — boasts a team-best 2.70 GAA and .921 save percentage in 17 appearances (886:00), while Logan Blahnik has played in six games (240:00), boating a 5.00 GAA and .843 save % and Aidan Vanderweele owns a 7.60 GAA and .818 save % in three appearances (142:00). … Jaschke closed out the 2024-25 season recording 511 saves in 21 appearances, second to Steven Kelley’s team-leading 738 saves in 25 appearances.
  • PROGRAM FIRSTS: The Woodsmen’s games against the Pelham Prowlers, Maine Nordiques, and Bozeman Icedogs at the NA3HL Showcase on Dec. 14-16 were the first meetings in program history.

POWER SCOUTING REPORT

  • FOR THE RECORD: The Power head into their final two regular-season games sporting a league-best 40-3-1-1 overall record, good for the top spot in the Central Division with 92 points.
  • LAST TIME OUT: West Bend picked up a pair of victories against the Peoria Mustangs on the road last weekend, winning 3-2 last Friday, before posting a more convincing 9-0 triumph the following evening.
  • STREAKING ALONG: With their sweep of the Mustangs last weekend, the Power head into their series against the Wisconsin Woodsmen riding a six-game winning streak. West Bend has not lost since dropping a 6-3 decision to the Rochester Grizzlies on Feb. 14. … West Bend’s loss to the Grizzlies on Feb. 14 put an end to the Power’s season-high 17-game winning streak that dated back to a 3-2 loss to the Wisconsin Woodsmen on Dec. 5. 
  • LIGHTING THE LAMP: Chase Fitzgerald heads into the weekend leading the Power in goals with 30. Danny Jurcich is second on the team with 23, followed by Nolan Mix with 21. Mason Wanka (19), Quinn O’Connor (17), Blake Kohnen (16), Aidan Callaghan (16), Jackson Hoem (14), Armin Fisher (14), Shaun Paulson (13), Brody Josselyn (13), Elias Holan (13), Andrew Sparacino (12), and Adam Sexton (10) have also reached double figures in goals this season.
  • LENDING A HELPING HAND: Callaghan owns a team-best 37 assists this season. He is one of six Power players with at least 30 helpers this season, being joined by Jurcich (36), Sparacino (35), O’Connor (32), Kohnen (31), and Fitzgerald (30). Hoem (27), Wanka (27) and Mix (25) give West Bend nine players with 20+ assists, with Sexton, Burchardt, and Brayden Waters just one helper shy of reaching the 20-point plateau.
  • POINT PRODUCERS: With two games remaining in the regular season, Fitzgerald holds a one point lead over Jurcich in the team’s points race. Fitzgerald boasts 60 points (30 G, 30 A), while Jurcich has 59 (23 G, 36 A). Callaghan has also reached the 50-point mark, sitting at 53 (16 G, 37 A), while O’Connor (17 G, 32 A, 49 Pts), Kohnen (16 G, 31 A, 47 Pts), Sparacino (12 G, 35 A, 47 Pts), Wanka (19 G, 27 A, 46 Pts), Mix (21 G, 25 A, 46 Pts), and Hoem (14 G, 27 A, 41 Pts) have all recorded more than 40 points.
  • BETWEEN THE PIPES: West Bend has had four different goalies see time between the pipes this season. Sam Ahl has appear3eed in 17 games (1021:00), compiling a 2.11 goals-against-average and .920 save percentage, while Ben Glaesman has played in 16 games (855:00), posting a 2.31 GAA and .903 save %. Peter Burke owns a 2.07 GAA and .930 save % in 13 games (724:00), while Ben Knutson has played in seven games (346), putting together a 2.25 GAA and .922 save %. … Ahl leads the team with 452 saves, followed by closes by Burke with 356 and Glaesman with 341.
