The Wisconsin Woodsmen kick off the month of February by returning home to the Tomah Ice Center this weekend for a pair of NA3HL games against the St. Louis Jr. Blues. The Woodsmen and Jr. Blues will drop the puck at 7:15 p.m. on Friday, with Saturday’s rematch also slated for a 7:15 p.m. opening face-off.

WOODSMEN SCOUTING REPORT:

  • FOR THE RECORD: The Woodsmen head into their weekend games against the St. Louis Jr. Blues sporting a 14-22-2-1 record, good for 31 points and a fifth-place showing in the NA3HL Central Division standings. … Wisconsin closed out the 2024-25 season with a 24-16-6-3 record, good for fifth place in the NA3HL Central Division standings.
  • LAST TIME OUT: Wisconsin turned up the heat — and buckled down defensively — in a two-game sweep of the Peoria Mustangs last weekend at the Tomah Ice Center. The Woodsmen opened the two-game set with a 6-0 win last Friday, before completing the sweep with another shutout win, this one a 7-0 final.
  • HOME SWEET HOME: After playing five of their last six games on the road, the Woodsmen are in the midst of a four-game homestand. After last weekend’s two games against the Peoria Mustangs and this weekend’s two-game set against the St. Louis Jr. Blues, the Woodsmen will hit the road for five of their final six regular-season games. … Wisconsin has collected nine of its 14 wins this season on its home ice, going 9-10-0-1 at the Tomah Ice Center, while owning a 5-12-2-0 mark on the road this year. … The Woodsmen finished 11-8-3-3 at the Tomah Ice Center a year ago, while going 11-8-3-3 on the road.
  • STREAKING: The Woodsmen’s 6-0 win over the Peoria Mustangs on Jan. 30 snapped their six-game losing streak, while their 7-0 victory the following evening has them riding a two-game winning streak heading into this weekend’s games against the Jr. Blues. … Thanks to their 13-0 win over the Pelham Prowlers, 5-1 victory vs. the Maine Nordiques, and a 7-0 triumph against the Bozeman Nordiques, the Woodsmen have now put together three consecutive wins three times this season. … With their 3-2 win over the Peoria Mustangs on Nov. 7, the Woodsmen put an end to a franchise-high nine-game losing streak.
  • WHITE-KNUCKLE RIDE: The Woodsmen’s 3-2 loss to the Wausau Cyclones on Jan. 24 was the 10th game this season decided by one goal. Wisconsin has now played 30 games over the last two seasons that have been decided by one goal — including 16 that went into overtime and four decided in a shootout. … Wisconsin’s 2-1 loss to the Minnesota Moose on Nov. 15 was their first game this season decided by a shootout.
  • TURNING UP THE HEAT: The Woodsmen erupted for a season-high 13 goals in routing the Pelham Power on Dec. 14. The 13 goals were one shy of the single-game franchise record of 14, set in a 14-0 whitewashing of the Minnesota Loons on Jan. 26, 2024. 
  • TURNING UP THE HEAT II: Wisconsin peppered the Peoria Mustangs’ net with 64 shots in its 9-1 win over the Mustangs on Nov. 8. The 64 shots on goal were a season-high, and the most since recording 67 shots against Peoria on Oct. 19, 2024.
  • TURNING UP THE HEAT III: The Woodsmen have scored six or more goals in a game nine times this season, and have netted 6+ goals in a game 19 times over the last two seasons.
  • PUTTING UP ZEOES: The Woodsmen posted back-to-back shutouts against the Peoria Mustangs on Jan. 30-31, marking the first time in program history Wisconsin has not allowed a goal in back-to-back games. … Wisconsin has posted four shutouts this season.
  • COMING UP EMPTY: The Woodsmen’s 4-0 loss to the Wausau Cyclones on Oct. 24 marked the first time this season they were held without a goal. The last time Wisconsin had been shut out came in a 3-0 loss to the Minnesota Moose on Dec. 6, 2024.
  • LIGHTING THE LAMP: Nolan Mix heads into the weekend as the team’s goal-scoring leader with 19, two more than Ty Paulios. The pair are two of four Woodsmen who have netted at least 10 goals this season, being joined by Parker Holloway, who has 13 goals, and Tyler Osborne, who has lit the lamp 12 times. … Josh Kauppinen is just two goals shy of joining the 10-goal club.
  • SPREADING THE WEALTH:The Woodsmen — whose seven combined goals in its season-opening split against the Rochester Grizzlies on Sept. 12-13 came from seven different players — have had 18 players light the lamp this season.
  • FRANCHISE BEST: Lazo’s four goals in Wisconsin’s 6-4 win over the West Bend Power on Oct. 3 matched his single-game career high, and equaled the franchise single-game record. … Lazo has now scored four goals in a game twice, having also achieved the feat against the Mason City Toros last season. … Nolan Mix originally had set the program record, scoring four goals against the Minnesota Loons on Jan. 26, 2024.
  • TOSSING THE HAT: Paulios’s hat trick against the Rochester Grizzlies on Nov. 22 was his second of the season, having also netted three goals against the Peoria Mustangs on Nov. 7. … Wisconsin has now had a player record three or more goals in a game eight times over the last two seasons. 
  • LENDING A HELPING HAND: Paulios and Mix are the team-leaders in assists with 22 and 21, respectively. They are two of nine Woodsmen who have eclipsed the 10-assist mark. Kauppinen and Brodie Mich are tied for third on the team with 19 helpers, followed by Brandon Slasor with 18, Osborne with 17, Bryce Bechen with 15, Holloway with 11, and Patrick Bowser with 10. … Osborne picked up four assists in the Woodsmen’s 7-0 win over the Bozeman Icedogs on Dec. 16, one shy of the single-game franchise record of five, set by Hunter Nelson against the Minnesota Loons on Jan. 26, 2024.
  • POINT PRODUCERS: Wisconsin boasts seven players who have accumulated 20 or more points this season, led by Mix with 40 (19 G, 21 A) and Paulios with 39 (17 G, 22 A). Osborne is third on the team with 29 points (12 G, 17 A), while Kauppinen (8 G, 19 A, 27 Pts)), while Slasor (7 G, 18 A, 25 Pts), Holloway (13 G, 11 A, 24 Pts), and Mich (4 G, 19 A, 23 Pts) are also members of the 20-point club.
  • BETWEEN THE PIPES: Lleyton Jaschke has appeared in 27 of the Woodsmen’s 39 games in goal (1424:00), compiling a 4.29 goals-against-average and an .881 save percentage. … Jaschke has stopped a team-leading 854 shots. … Jaschke recorded the first two shutouts of the season against the Peoria Mustangs on Jan. 30-31. He stopped 14 shots in a 6-0 win on Jan. 30, and added a 23-save performance in a 7-0 victory the following evening. … Alex Rivolta — who picked up his first and second shutouts as a Woodsmen with a six-save effort against the Pelham Prowlers on Dec. 14 and a 27-save showing against the Bozeman Icedogs two days later — boasts a team-best 2.63 GAA and .917 save percentage in 11 appearances (523:00), while Logan Blahnik has played in five games (217:00), boating a 5.25 GAA and .850 save % and Aidan Vanderweele owns a 7.60 GAA and .818 save % in three appearances (142:00). … Jaschke closed out the 2024-25 season recording 511 saves in 21 appearances, second to Steven Kelley’s team-leading 738 saves in 25 appearances.
  • PROGRAM FIRSTS: The Woodsmen’s games against the Pelham Prowlers, Maine Nordiques, and Bozeman Icedogs at the NA3HL Showcase on Dec. 14-16 were the first meetings in program history.

  • FOR THE RECORD: The St. Louis Jr. Blues head into this weekend’s two-game showdown with the Wisconsin Woodsmen sporting a 20-16-1-0 record, good for 41 points and a fourth-place spot in then standings. …. The Jr. Blues enter the weekend trailing the third-place Wausau Cyclones by just two points. 
  • LAST TIME OUT: The Jr. Blues dropped both of their NA3HL games against Central Division-leading West Bend Power last weekend on the road, falling 8-5 last Friday, before suffering a 5-3 setback the following evening.
  • HITTING THE ROAD: St. Louis is in the midst of playing eight consecutive games on the road. Following this weekend’s two games against the Wisconsin Woodsmen — games No. 5 and 6 away from Affton Ice Arena — the Jr. Blues will head to Wausau, Wis., next w3eekend for two games against the Wausau Cyclones, before finally returning home for two-game series against the Rochester Grizzlies (Feb. 21-22) and Wisconsin Woodsmen (Feb. 27-28). … St. Louis boasts a 12-7-1-0 record on its home ice, while going 8-9-0-0 on the road.
  • LIGHTING THE LAMP: The Jr. Blues boast six players who have netted at least 10 goals this season, led by Jace Jordan, who has scored 22 goals in 34 games. Lonnie Land is second on the team with 18 goals, while Caden Lindley (14), Jack Reuss (12), Joseph Lopiccolo (10), and Chase Kozma have also reached the 10+ goal plateau. Mitchell and Nappier and Nicholas Morgan are both just two goals shy of reaching the 10-goal mark.
  • LENDING A HELPING HAND: Lopiccolo owns the team leads in assists with 27, three more than Jordan, Nappier, and Eric Denny. The four are the only Jr. Blues to hit 20 assists this season, with Teagan Lee (16), Reuss (15), Land (14), Kozma (13), and Lindley (12) have also posted at least 10 helpers this season.
  • POINT PRODUCERS: With 22 goals and 24 assists, Jordan is the overwhelming leader in points with 46. Lopiccolo is second on the team with 37 points (10 G, 27 A), followed by Land (18 G, 14 A, 32 Pts), Nappier (98 G, 24 A, 32 Pts), and Denny (6 G, 24 A, 30 Pts). Reuss (12 G, 15 A, 27 Pts), Lindley (14 G, 12 A, 26 Pts), Kozma (10 G, 13 A, 23 Pts), and Lee (6 G, 16 A, 22 Pts) give the Jr. Blues nine players with 20+ points this season.
  • BETWEEN THE PIPES: St. Louis has used three different goalies this season, led by Travis Visvadra and Aaron Sibert. Visvadra has appeared in 23 games (1343:00), compiling a 3.35 goals-against-average and an .893 save percentage, while Sibert boasts a 3.03 GAA and .908 save % in 14 appearances (772:00). Oscar Pupillo has also appeared between the pipes for the Jr. Blues, posting a 5.29 GAA and .859 save % in three games (102:00). … Visvadra leads the team with 699 saves, followed by Sibert with 423 saves and Pupillo with 64.
