The Wisconsin Woodsmen kick off the 2026 portion of their schedule this weekend with NA3HL games against the West Bend Power and Rochester Grizzlies. The Woodsmen head to Kettle Moraine, Wis., for a 7:30 p.m. matchup against the Power, before returning home to the Tomah Ice Center for a 7:15 p.m. showdown with the Grizzlies.

WOODSMEN SCOUTING REPORT:

  • FOR THE RECORD: The Woodsmen head into their weekend games against the West Bend Power and Rochester Grizzlies sporting a 12-16-2-1 record, good for 27 points and a fifth-place showing in the NA3HL Central Division standings. … Wisconsin closed out the 2024-25 season with a 24-16-6-3 record, good for fifth place in the NA3HL Central Division standings.
  • LAST TIME OUT: The Woodsmen have been off since Dec. 19-20, when they split their two-game series against the Wausau Cyclones at the Tomah Ice Center. Wausau took the opener 4-1, with the Woodsmen rebounding with a 6-1 victory in the rematch.
  • PROGRAM FIRSTS: The Woodsmen’s games against the Pelham Prowlers, Maine Nordiques, and Bozeman Icedogs at the NA3HL Showcase on Dec. 14-16 were the first meetings in program history.
  • ROAD WARRIORS: The Woodsmen are in the midst of playing five of their next six games on the road — the lone exception, Saturday’s matchup against the Rochester Grizzlies. … Wisconsin has collected seven of its 12 wins this season on its home ice, going 7-9-0-1 at the Tomah Ice Center, while owning a 5-7-2-0 mark on the road this year. … The Woodsmen finished 11-8-3-3 at the Tomah Ice Center a year ago, while going 11-8-3-3 on the road.
  • STREAKING: Thanks to their 13-0 win over the Pelham Prowlers, 5-1 victory vs. the Maine Nordiques, and a 7-0 triumph against the Bozeman Nordiques, the have now put together three consecutive wins three times this season. … With their 3-2 win over the Peoria Mustangs on Nov. 7, the Woodsmen put an end to a franchise-high nine-game losing streak.
  • WHITE-KNUCKLE RIDE: The Woodsmen’s 3-2 overtime win over the West Bend Power on Dec. 5 was the ninth game this season decided by one goal. Wisconsin has now played 29 games over the last two seasons that have been decided by one goal — including 16 that went into overtime and four decided in a shootout. … Wisconsin’s 2-1 loss to the Minnesota Moose on Nov. 15 was their first game this season decided by a shootout.
  • TURNING UP THE HEAT: The Woodsmen erupted for a season-high 13 goals in routing the Pelham Power on Dec. 14. The 13 goals were one shy of the single-game franchise record of 14, set in a 14-0 whitewashing of the Minnesota Loons on Jan. 26, 2024. 
  • TURNING UP THE HEAT II: Wisconsin peppered the Peoria Mustangs’ net with 64 shots in its 9-1 win over the Mustangs on Nov. 8. The 64 shots on goal were a season-high, and the most since recording 67 shots against Peoria on Oct. 19, 2024.
  • TURNING UP THE HEAT III: The Woodsmen have scored six or more goals in a game seven times this season, and have netted 6+ goals in a game 17 times over the last two seasons.
  • COMING UP EMPTY: The Woodsmen’s 4-0 loss to the Wausau Cyclones on Oct. 24 marked the first time this season they were held without a goal. The last time Wisconsin, which has scored 80 goals in 26 games, had been shut out came in a 3-0 loss to the Minnesota Moose on Dec. 6, 2025.
  • LIGHTING THE LAMP: Maxim Lazo heads into the weekend leading the Woodsmen in goals with 16, two more than both Ty Paulios and Nolan Mix. The trio are the only Woodsmen who have reached double figures in goals, while Tyler Osborne is one goal shy of reaching the 10-gaol mark, and Josh Kauppoinen is two goals short.
  • SPREADING THE WEALTH:The Woodsmen — whose seven combined goals in its season-opening split against the Rochester Grizzlies on Sept. 12-13 came from seven different players — have had 22 players light the lamp this season.
  • FRANCHISE BEST: Lazo’s four goals in Wisconsin’s 6-4 win over the West Bend Power on Oct. 3 matched his single-game career high, and equaled the franchise single-game record. … Lazo has now scored four goals in a game twice, having also achieved the feat against the Mason City Toros last season. … Nolan Mix originally had set the program record, scoring four goals against the Minnesota Loons on Jan. 26, 2024.
  • TOSSING THE HAT: Paulios’s hat trick against the Rochester Grizzlies on Nov. 22 was his second of the season, having also netted three goals against the Peoria Mustangs on Nov. 7. … Wisconsin has now had a player record three or more goals in a game eight times over the last two seasons. 
  • LENDING A HELPING HAND: Mix is the team-leader in assists with 20. He is one of eight Woodsmen who have eclipsed the 10-assist mark. Paulios is second to Mix with 19 helpers, followed by Lazo with 17, Brandon Slasor and Brodie Mich with 15, Osborne and Kauppinen with 14 each, and Bryce Bechen with 12. … Osborne picked up four assists in the Woodsmen’s 7-0 win over the Bozeman Icedogs on Dec. 16, one shy of the single-game franchise record of five, set by Hunter Nelson against the Minnesota Loons on Jan. 26, 2024.
  • POINT PRODUCERS: Wisconsin boasts six players who have accumulated 20 or more points this season, led by Mix with 34 (14 G, 20 A). Lazo (16 G, 17 A) and Paulios (14 G, 19 A) join Mix in the 30-point club, while Osborne (9 G, 14 A, 23 Pts), Kauppinen (8 G, 14 A, 22 Pts), and Slasor (6 G, 15 A, 21 Pts) have also recorded 20+ points.. 
  • BETWEEN THE PIPES: Lleyton Jaschke has appeared in 21 of the Woodsmen’s 32 games in goal (1155:00), compiling a 4.20 goals-against-average and an .887 save percentage. … Jaschke has stopped 717 of the 798 shots he’s faced. … Alex Rivolta — who picked up his first and second shutouts as a Woodsmen with a six-save effort against the Pelham Prowlers on Dec. 14 and a 27-save showing against the Bozeman Icedogs two days later — boasts a 1.95 GAA and .922 save percentage in eight appearances (400:00), while Logan Blahnik has played in five games (217:00), boating a 5.25 GAA and .850 save % and Aidan Vanderweele owns an 8.18 GAA and .818 save % in two appearances (88:00). … Jaschke closed out the 2024-25 season recording 511 saves in 21 appearances, second to Steven Kelley’s team-leading 738 saves in 25 appearances.

POWER SCOUTING REPORT:

  • FOR THE RECORD: The league-leading Power head into the weekend sporting an impressive 27-2-1-1 record, good for 54 points and a 19-point lead over second-place Rochester Grizzlies. 
  • LAST TIME OUT: West Bend picked up a pair of wins to kick off the new year last weekend, beating the Wausau Cyclones 4-3 at home on Jan. 2, before completing the sweep with a 7-2 road victory the following evening.
  • HOME SWEET HOME: The Power have been unbeatable on their home ice this season, sporting a perfect 14-0-0-0 record on their home sheet, while sporting a 13-2-1-1 mark on the road.
  • STREAKING: West Bend enters the weekend riding an eight-game winning streak. The Power have not lost since dropping a 3-2 decision to the Wisconsin Woodsmen on Dec. 5. … West Bend’s loss to the Wisconsin Woodsmen on Dec. 5 snapped the Power’s 13-game winning streak, giving WB a 21-1-0-0 mark over the last 22 games.
  • LIGHTING THE LAMP: Jace Fitzgerald has been a scoring machine for the Power, netting a team-high 21 goals in 28 games this season. Fitzgerald is one of eight West Bend players who have netted 10 or more goals this season, being joined by Blak Kohnen, Quinn O’Connor, Armani Fisher, and Elisa Holan with 11 goals each, and Danny Jurcich, Jackson Hoem, and Brody Josselyn, who have all scored 10 times. … Adam Sexton is one goal shy of joining the 10-goal club, with Andrew Sparacino sitting two goals away. 
  • LENDING A HELPING HAND: Jurcich owns a team-best 26 assists, one more than Sparacino, and two in front of Kohnen. Fitzgerald has also eclipsed the 20-assist mark, sitting at 21 helpers, while O’Connor (19), Hoem (18), Sexton (17), Josselyn (14), and Evan Burchardt (12) have also reached double figures in assists.
  • POINT PRODUCERS: With 21 goals and 21 assists, Fitzgerald owns the team lead in points with 42. He is one of five Power two reach 30 points — being joined by Jurcich (10 G, 26 A, 36 Pts), Kohnen (11 G, 24 A, 35 Pts), Sparacino (8 G, 25 A, 33 Pts), and O’Connor (11 G, 19 A, 30 Pts) — with Hoem (10 G, 18 A, 28 Pts), Sexton (9 G, 17 A, 26 Pts), and Josselyn (10 G, 14 A, 24 Pts) all owning 20+ points.
  • BETWEEN THE PIPES: Four different players have seen time between the pipes for the Power, led by Peter Burke and Ben Glaesman. Burke has compiled a 2.16 goals-against-average and .928 save percentage in 12 appearances (664:00), while Glaesman owns a 2.48 GAA and .894 save % in 11 games (556:00). Ben Knutson (2.25 GAA, .922 save %, 346:00) and Sam Ahl (1.59 GAA, .940 save %, 301:00) have also made appearances in goal for West Bend. … As a unit, the Power goalies have combined for a 2.19 GAA and .920 save %.

GRIZZLIES SCOUTING REPORT:

  • FOR THE RECORD: The Grizzlies head into this weekend’s game against the Wisconsin Woodsmen owning a 17-11-1-0 record, good for 35 points and a second-place standing in the NA3HL Central Division standings.
  • LAST TIME OUT: Rochester came away with a pair of one-goal wins over the St. Louis Jr. Blues last weekend at the Rochester Rec Center, beating the Jr. Blues 4-3 last Friday, before completing the sweep with a 3-2 win the following evening.
  • HOME SWEET HOME: Last Wednesday’s game against the West Bend Power and Saturday’s game at the Wisconsin Woodsmen are the only road games in the month of January. Rochester plays eight of its 10 January games on its home ice, where the Grizzlies sport an 8-5-1-0 record. The Grizzlies are 9-6-0-0 away from the Rochester Rec Center.
  • ON A ROLL: The Grizzlies head into their showdown against the Woodsmen having won six of their last seven games, the lone blemish a 2-1 loss to the Wausau Cyclones on Dec. 30.
  • LIGHTING THE LAMP: Mason Decker has been the Grizzlies’ go-to man when it comes to scoring goals, lighting the lamp 26 times through 29 games. Baylor Stebbins is a distant second with 13 goals, two more than both Brett Ludvigsen and Ole Fevold. The quartet are the only Grizzlies with 10 or more goals this season, with Cooper Johnson one goal shy of the 10-goal mark, while Konnor Goclan is two goals away. … Rochester has gotten goals from 17 different players.
  • LENDING A HELPING HAND: Trenton Fore owns a team-best 24 assists, one more than Andrew Bastian and two up on Ludvigsen. Fevold has also eclipsed the 20-assist mark, owning 21 helpers, while Goclan is just one helper shy, sitting at 19 assists. Decker (15), Stebbins (14), and Johnson (12) have also reached double figures in assists.
  • POINT PRODUCERS: Thanks to his 26 goals and 15 assists, Decker easily owns the team’s lead in points with 41. Ludvigsen is second with 33 points (11 G, 22 A), with Fevold (11 G, 21 A, 32 Pts) and Fore (7 G, 24 A, 31 Pts) also owning 30+ points. Bastian (5 G, 23 A, 28 Pts), Goclan (8 G, 19 A, 27 Pts) and Johnson (9 G, 12 A, 21 Pts) give the Grizzlies eight players with 20 or more points.
  • BETWEEN THE PIPES: Rochester has used five different goalies this season, led by Kyle Lappi and Callum Keating. Lappi has compiled a 2.79 goals-against-average and .894 save percentage in 11 games (622:00) and Keating owns a 3.17 GAA and .864 save % in eight games (453:00). Cameron Patrick (2.09 GAA, .933 save %, 6 GP, 315:00), Nick Kurtiak (2.66 GAA, .884 save %, 3 GP, 180:00), and Tate Metcalf (5.31 GAA, .797 save %, 3 GP, 158:00) have also seen time between the pipes.
