PAULIOS’S HAT TRICK NOT ENOUGH IN OT LOSS TO GRIZZLIES

Nov 23, 2025

ROCHESTER, Minn. — Same opponent, same location, and same 4-3 final overtime outcome.
Unfortunately for the Wisconsin Woodsmen, this time around, it would be the Rochester
Grizzlies coming away with the one-goal victory.

Just a day after the Woodsmen recorded a 4-3 victory in the first game of the teams’ two-game
NA3HL showdown at the Rochester Rec Center, Konnor Goclan would score less than three
minutes into overtime, lifting the Grizzlies the 4-3 victory and a split in the weekend series.
The loss overshadowed a stellar offensive showing by the Woodsmen’s Ty Paulios, who
accounted for all three of Wisconsin’s goals.

After managing just two goals between them for the first two periods, the Woodsmen and
Grizzlies combined for four goals in the third period.

Rochester came out firing in the opening period, pelting the Wisconsin net with 14 first-period
shots, but could only put one past Woodsmen goalie Lleyton Jaschke to take a 1-0 lead into the
first intermission.

Paulios got his evening going 2:46 into the second period to pull the Woodsmen even with 20
minutes to play.

Paulios added goal No. 2 23 seconds into the final frame to give the Woodsmen a 2-1 edge.
Rochester knotted the game at 2-2 with 14:47 to play, only to have Paulios complete his first
Woodsmen hat trick with 4:11 on the clock to put Wisconsin back in front, 3-2.

Rochester’s Sawyer Zaruba sent the game into overtime with the fourth goal of the period with
2:28 remaining in regulation, and Goclan capped the Grizzlie comeback, netting the game-
winner 2:50 into the extra session.

Jaschke finished with 40 saves, while Grizzlies’ goalie Callum Keating kicked out 20 of the 23
Woodsmen shots he faced.

The Woodsmen (5-14-2-1) are back in action — and back on the road — next weekend, heading
to Peoria, Ill., for a pair of NA3HL games against the Peoria Mustangs. The two teams will
square off at 7 p.m. on Friday, with Saturday’s rematch slated for 4 p.m.
